About the role.
This is the heart of the work. You'll spend most of your time in the neighborhoods — on porches, at cookouts, in church basements — meeting neighbors, listening well, and helping members step into leading their own blocks.
You'll coach, not command. The members lead; you make sure they have what they need to do it.
What you'll do
- Build and keep real relationships across two to three neighborhoods
- Coach member leaders as they host gatherings and organize their blocks
- Run one-on-ones, house meetings, and neighborhood walks
- Keep the neighborhood relationship map current
What you bring
- You've done community work before — paid or not
- Warm, clear, organized, and serious
- You can make a stranger feel like family inside of five minutes
- Based in or ready to move to Philadelphia
